Perinatal Grief and Loss: Supporting Bereaved Parents

The Training Center for Psychotherapists is pleased to partner with Alive In My Heart for a workshop exploring perinatal grief and loss and providing professionals with practical knowledge and strategies for supporting individuals and couples following pregnancy and infant loss.

Pregnancy and infant loss impacts one in four women and couples who become pregnant, yet historically has been a taboo topic leading to feelings of isolation alongside the grief over losing a baby. Alive In My Heart was formed by grieving parents for grieving parents in 2017, to ensure no one had to navigate this type of loss alone.

This session will present an overview of various types of pregnancy and infant loss, their prevalence among different demographic groups, and mental health impacts of this particular type of loss.
